'Vijayakanth was known for his open and bold stance' | Chennai News - Times of India

Puducherry: Stating that they are shocked and saddened by his demise. DMDK leader Vijay KantChief Minister of Puducherry N. Rangasamy said on Thursday that the actor-turned-politician propagated revolutionary ideas through his films and instilled feelings of patriotism among the people. He said that the actor was awarded the best citizen award by the central government for promoting patriotism.

“Despite receiving the Kalaimamani Award and the MGR Award, he respected the title of ‘Captain’ bestowed by his fans and followers,” Rangasamy said.
“He was known for his open and bold stand if he believed he was on the right path. He was identified as a man who stood for truth. He was an example that any individual should work hard. Sini can succeed in film industry and politics.His death is an irreparable loss to film industry and political arena.

Condolences on death of Lt Governor Vijayakanth Tamalai Soundarajan He said that the actor was a good person who was close to the hearts of many because of his personality and humanitarian qualities as a political leader. “He could have reached greater heights in his life. I pray to Allah to rest his soul in peace,” she said.
