US, Israel discuss 'different phase' of war - Times of India

Washington: US national security adviser Jack Sullivan met with Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Drummer on Tuesday to discuss moving to a “different phase” of the Israel-Hamas war, a White House official said.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss measures for improvement. The human condition I War-torn Gaza and minimize harm to civilians, according to the official, who did not want to be named.
The official, referring to the Palestinian militant group, said it was also meant to be an opportunity to discuss “a transition to a different phase of the war to focus more on the higher goals of Hamas.”

Following the Hamas attack, Israel launched a massive aerial bombardment and siege, followed by a ground offensive. According to the Health Ministry of Hamas-run Gaza, 20,915 people have been killed in the campaign.
The White House official said Tuesday’s meeting would allow Israel and the U.S. to finally discuss “governance and security in Gaza, a political horizon for the Palestinian people, and continued work on normalization and integration.” It also provided an opportunity.
