While attending CII’s Young Indians (Yi) 20th National Summit in Chennai on Friday, the Industries Minister TRB Raja Said that Tamil Nadu, which is the EV capital of India, wants to become the EV capital of the world.
“We are coming up with a battery manufacturing policy. In batteries, we are going into cell chemistry. We don’t just want the high level of the EV industry, but we want to go with the full value chain very soon. Possibly. But, next year, you can hear news about mass cell manufacturing, and basic cell manufacturing,” the minister said in his keynote address.
He hinted that some big companies may set foot in the state. “We have OLA and Ather. And I have some good names coming very soon, hopefully, for the Global Investors Meet (GIM). India can prepare for the world and Tamil Nadu can play a big role. is,” he added.
