 Supreme Court stays PMLA trial against 'lottery king' | India News - Times of India

New Delhi: Supreme Court The trial in the money laundering case was stopped on Wednesday. Lottery King Santiago Martin And on his request issued a notice to the ED to adjourn the PMLA hearing pending disposal. Predicate offense CBI has registered a case against him.
A bench of Justice ASOka and Justice Ujal Bhuyan issued an interim order and sought a response from the agency on their plea. The ED had booked him in a money laundering case based on a case filed by the CBI in which he was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Code (IPC) as well as the Lotteries (Regulation) Act.
In his application, Martin questioned the court’s examination of whether a criminal trial based on triggering a money laundering case should take precedence over a trial in a PMLA case.
