New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday Breach of Parliament security is a serious problem and cannot be underestimated.
In his first remarks after the December 13 incident, PM Modi He said that the security breach is painful and alarming. He demanded that there should be no debate on the issue amid the opposition’s protest over it in Parliament.
In an interview to a Hindi daily, he said, “Efforts should be made to find solutions with collective spirit. Everyone should refrain from quarreling over such a matter.
The Prime Minister said that investigative agencies are investigating the incident and taking strict action.
“The seriousness of what happened in Parliament should not be underestimated. The Speaker is also taking necessary steps with all seriousness,” he added.
Earlier this week, two men jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitors’ gallery and spewed yellow smoke while the Zero Hour proceedings were underway.
The Delhi Police has so far arrested six people in connection with the investigation into the security breach.
