 NIM to launch scholarship program for youth | India News - Times of India

Uttarkashi: In an effort to support Financially disadvantaged Yet Talented people Aspiring to become a mountaineer and seek self-employment in the field, Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) will start. Scholarship program starting next year.
For this programme, NIM has recently signed an MoU with Dr Leeladhar Bhatt Memorial Kalyan Samiti (DLDMKS) – a social welfare organization based in Champavat.
According to NIM officials, the program will award scholarships worth Rs 25,000 per year to four trainees—two from Advanced Mountaineering Course (AMC) and two from Method of Instruction (MOI) courses—on completion of their training. Selection will be based on overall performance of the trainees during the course, practical skills, theoretical knowledge, conduct and other criteria.
“This initiative will be beneficial to aspiring mountaineers who face financial difficulties in pursuing their hobby due to financial constraints,” said NIM principal Col. Anshuman Bhaduria.
