He also thrashed her and warned her that if she revealed the incident to anyone, she would face dire consequences. Gangwar then blackmailed the woman using the video and raped her several times.
Additional District Government Council (ADGC) Pratap Singh Maurya said, “The woman, a resident of Bareilly, was 24 years old when she came in contact with the accused through social media. In her complaint, she said that she was not aware of the incident. kept silent about because the accused had promised to marry her besides threatening her.
“However, when she came to know that the accused was already married, she decided to file a complaint against him. A charge sheet was filed and the accused was also booked under the IT Act for making an obscene video of the complainant. Alleged,” said the ADGC.
He said that seven witnesses were produced in court and based on the evidence, Gengwar was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday. A fine of Rs 2.12 lakh was also imposed on him.
