Kashmir will turn into Gaza, Palestine if there's no dialogue between India & Pakistan: Farooq Abdullah | India News - Times of India

New Delhi: Head of the National Conference Farooq Abdullah On Tuesday, he said that if India and Pakistan do not find a solution to the Kashmir issue through negotiations, the region may face the same fate as Gaza and Palestine.
Speaking to journalists, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir said that if we [India] Be friendly with neighbors, both countries will prosper.
“Atal Bihari Vajpayee had said that we can change our friends but not our neighbours. If we keep friendship with our neighbours, both will prosper. PM Modi also said that war is no longer an option and Matters should be resolved through dialogue”. They said.
Abdullah, however, expressed disappointment that despite these statements, there is no dialogue between the two countries.
“Where are the talks? Nawaz Sharif is going to be the Prime Minister (of Pakistan) and he is saying that we are ready to talk (with India), but what is the reason why we are not ready to talk?” Abdullah asked.
He warned that if we do not find a solution through dialogue, Kashmir will have the same fate as Gaza and Palestine, which Israel is bombing.
Relations between India and Pakistan have often been strained over the Kashmir issue and cross-border terrorism from Pakistan.
However, their relationship soured after India abrogated Article 370 as Pakistan expelled the Indian ambassador and cut trade ties.
India has repeatedly said that Kashmir is an internal matter and has added that it wants normal friendly relations with Pakistan in an environment free from terrorism, violence and hostility.
