Injury woes mount for Pakistan as Abrar Ahmed ruled out of second Test against Australia | Cricket News - Times of India

New Delhi: Pakistan‘s cricket team suffered yet another setback as an off-spinner on Sunday Abrar Ahmed He became the third player in as many days to be ruled out of the upcoming second Test against Australia. The setback comes on the back of a difficult series of injuries for the Pakistani squad.
Abrar Ahmed was already ruled out of the Test in Perth with a leg injury and although there were hopes of a recovery, the off-spinner has not regained full fitness in time for the crucial Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.
gave Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a statement, which said, ‘Given the nature of the injury and the workload on the spinner in the Test match, Abrar is not yet ready and hence will not be available for the second Test. ‘
The statement added that Ahmed will undergo a preliminary fitness test on December 25 to determine his possible return date.
The development comes after fellow spinner was hospitalized. Noman Aliwho was diagnosed with acute appendicitis which ruled him out of the three-match series against Australia. To fill the void left by Ali, the PCB announced his induction. Mohammad Nawaz as an alternative.
