Varanasi: Inauguration of world’s largest meditation center Sawar Mehmandar Here on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ModiHe said that the country has declared freedom from the slavery mindset and is proud of its heritage. “During the era of slavery, the tyrants who tried to weaken India first targeted our symbols. After independence, it was necessary to reconstruct these cultural symbols,” he said.
Modi said that after India’s independence, “there was opposition to rebuilding the Somnath temple and this thought process prevailed for decades.”
He said that the result was that the country fell into a pit of inferiority complex and forgot to be proud of its heritage.
“After seven decades of independence, the wheel of time has turned once again. The country has declared freedom from the slavery mindset from the Red Fort and has expressed a sense of pride in its heritage.
Modi said, “What started with Somnath has now become a campaign. Today, Vishwanath’s glory sings the glory of India.”
For centuries, India has been an example of economic prosperity and physical development, the Prime Minister said, adding that the government, society and saints are working together for the revival of Kashi.
After inaugurating Swari Mohmandar, Modi along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the center where 20,000 people can sit for meditation at a time. Verses of Swarveda are carved on the walls of Mohmandar. — a seven-story superstructure.
