Haryana govt announces winter vacations in schools from January 1 to 15 due to increasing cold - Times of India

Panchkula: The Haryana government on Saturday announced winter vacation for all government and private schools from January 1 to January 15, 2024.
This decision has come in view of the expected cold wave in the state in the next few days. According to the circular issued by the state administration, the schools will open on 16 January 2024. This information was shared by the official Twitter handle of Haryana Chief Minister’s office.
“In view of increasing cold, Haryana Government has declared winter vacation in all public and private schools of the state from January 1 to January 15, 2024. All schools will remain closed during this period,” the state said. An official circular issued by the administration said.
The government has asked all District Education Officers, District Elementary Education Officers and Principals to follow the directions issued by the Haryana Government.
According to the India Meteorological Department, most parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi recorded minimum temperatures in the range of 4-8°C yesterday.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted an increase of about 2 degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature during the next 24 hours. Dense fog conditions are very likely during morning hours over isolated areas of Haryana on December 24 and 25.
