New Delhi: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar reacted strongly on Saturday Demolish, Destroy of a Hindu Temple The US said no country should harbor such “extremists”.
“I have seen it. Extremists, separatists and such forces should not be accommodated. Our consulate there has complained to the government and the police and an inquiry is on,” Jaishankar told reporters.

The remarks came after the Swaminarayan temple in Newark was hit with anti-India slogans by the US. Graffiti.

The incident came to light on Friday after the Hindu American Foundation posted a story with the photos on X.
The Hindu American Foundation said, “The Swaminarayan Temple Vasana Sanstha in Newark, California was vandalized with pro-#Khalistan slogans. @NewarkCA_Police and @CivilRights have been notified and a full investigation will follow. We Insisting that this should be investigated as a hate crime,” the Hindu American Foundation tweeted

According to the temple administration, the incident took place on Thursday night.
“One of the devotees living near the shrine spotted anti-Hindu and anti-India graffiti in black ink on the outer wall of the building, and the local administration was immediately informed,” temple spokesperson Bhargu Rawal said. The administration told news agency ANI.
The spokesperson added that temple authorities were “shocked” to see anti-India graffiti on its wall.
Throwing more light on the incident, Newark City Police Captain, Jonathan Arguello said a ‘targeted act’ is being investigated.
“Based on the graffiti, we believe it was a targeted act, and it will be thoroughly investigated,” the captain told reporters during a press conference.
He added that such ‘senseless’ acts have no place in Newark and will not be tolerated at any cost.
The captain assured that the matter will be investigated as thoroughly as possible”, adding that officers are already probing the evidence.
The Consulate General of India in San Francisco also strongly condemned the desecration of the temple.
