New Delhi: Under the patronage of Indian Coast Guard Ship ICGS Vikram, attacking merchant ship MV Cam Pluto Arrived at Mumbai port after 3pm on Monday.
The India-bound, Liberian-flagged, Japanese-owned and Dutch-operated Cam Pluto ran aground 200 nautical miles off the coast of India on December 23.
A joint investigation is being conducted by the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, intelligence agencies and other relevant authorities to find out how the ship was attacked. The agencies will try to determine whether the projectile used to attack the plane was a missile or a drone. .
The Navy said a Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialist from the force would begin cleaning the ship and conducting further investigations.
Defense officials said the Indian Coast Guard has also increased patrolling in the area to provide security to commercial vessels passing through.

As a result of the attack, the commercial ship exploded and caught fire, but there were no casualties. The crew includes 21 Indians.
The ship, carrying crude oil, was en route to Mangaluru from the Saudi Arabian port when it was attacked off the Indian coast.

Iran denies involvement.
The US has accused Iran of being behind the drone attack on the chemical tankers, a charge Tehran has vehemently denied.
“These repeated allegations are rejected as baseless,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said at a briefing, adding that Israel’s role in the war in Gaza was in return. America should face charges.

Tehran has denied US allegations of involvement in Houthi attacks on Red Sea ships.

A Pentagon spokesman told reporters that the MV Cam Pluto was hit by a “unilateral attack drone fired from Iran.”
The attack comes in the wake of attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels on ships in the Red Sea during the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
A Gabonese-flagged commercial crude oil tanker with 25 Indian crew members also reportedly came under drone attack in the southern Red Sea, but no one was injured.
US Central Command said the MV Sai Baba was targeted by Houthi militants with a drone in the southern Red Sea on Saturday.
