Eid Bank Holiday April 2024: According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list, banks in some states will remain closed on Thursday on the occasion of Ramadan Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr).
Eid al-Fitr It begins when the crescent moon is sighted, beginning the 10th month of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar. Since lunar months last from 29 to 30 days, Muslims usually confirm the night before the Eid date begins.
According to an ET report, the crescent moon was not sighted in Delhi, Hyderabad and Lucknow on April 9, so Eid will be celebrated on April 11. On April 9, Eid will be celebrated today (April 10), with celebrations in various countries across the Middle East and West.

April 10: Banks will remain closed in Kerala.
April 11 (Thursday) – Ramadan-Eid (Eid al-Fitr) (1st of Shawwal): Banks will remain closed in most states except Chandigarh, Sikkim, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh.

April 13 (2nd week) – Bohag Bihu/Cherawaba/Basakhi/Biju Festival: Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Assam, Manipur and Jammu and Srinagar.
April 15 (Monday) – Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day: Banks will remain closed in Assam and Himachal Pradesh.
April 16 (Tuesday) – Shri Ram Nomi (Chet Dasin): Banks will remain closed in various states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
April 20 (Third Week) – Griya Puja: Banks will remain closed in Tripura.
