 Chhattisgarh CM allocates portfolios, keeps GAD, mineral resources | India News - Times of India

RAIPUR: A fortnight after forming the cabinet, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on Friday allocated departments By his 12 Ministers But Maintained Important mining, Department of Excise and Public Relations with them. The Chief Minister will also hold the portfolios of Energy, Commercial Tax (Excise), Transport and other portfolios not allotted to any other Minister.
The home portfolio was allotted to one of his deputies, Vijay Sharma, with the portfolios of Panchayat and Rural Development, Technical Education and Employment, Science and Technology. Another deputy chief minister, Arun Sao, was given the charge of the Department of Public Works, PHE, Urban Administration and Law. Departments of Legislative Affairs.
IAS-turned-minister OP Chaudhary will be finance minister along with planning, economics and statistics and housing and environment and commercial tax.
Senior minister Brijmohan Agarwal will hold portfolios of schools and higher education, parliamentary affairs, religious trusts and endowments, tourism and culture.
Another senior tribal minister, Ram Vichar Neetam, has been assigned the portfolio of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and Minority Development, Agricultural Development and Farmers’ Welfare.
Minister Dayal Das Bagheil will take charge of the Department of Food, Urban Supply and Consumer Protection, while Bastar Tribal Minister Kedar Kashyap will look after Forests and Climate Change, Water Resources, Skill Development and Cooperatives.
Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan has got the portfolios of Commerce and Industry and Labor while Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Twenty Point Implementation Program have been given to Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal.
Lakshmi Rajwade, the only and youngest woman minister, has been allotted the portfolios of women and child development and social welfare and Tank Ramvarma will look after the portfolios of sports and youth welfare, revenue and disaster management.
