#BoycottPVRINOX trends on social media amidst the 'Salaar' and 'Dunki' releases - Times of India

Two big moviesSalar‘And’Dinky‘ is ready for release in theatres. While the two films have their own buzz on social media and clash at the box office just a day apart, a controversy has arisen over the screen split. Major theater chain management in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have allocated more screens for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dinky’. Prabhas‘Saalar’, which has disappointed audiences, leading them to opt for single-screen exhibitors or small private theatres, which in turn have opted out of screening ‘Dinky’ altogether.
Fans of both the actors are disappointed at the failure of the theatrical screening, and it has created a stir among fans in the South, with the hashtag #BoycottPVRINOX trending on Twitter.
Fans have also requested that theater chains give equal screen share to both the films, as both can potentially earn over Rs 1000 crore at the box office. The makers of Prabhas’ ‘Saalar’ are also unwilling to back down and have demanded a fair distribution of screens across the country.
Directed by Prashant Neil‘Saalaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan in lead roles, and the film’s music is composed by Ravi Basarwar. The film will release in theaters tomorrow on December 22 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dinky’ has released in theaters today on December 21, with maximum exposure in South India. However, Prabhas’ ‘Saalar’ has overtaken both advance ticket bookings and pre-sales in southern states.
