Justice Bose graduated in Commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, LLB from Surendranath Law College, and was admitted as an advocate in the Calcutta High Court in 1985. In January 2004, he was appointed as a permanent judge of the High Court and became the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court in August 2018. He was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court in May 2019.
Apart from Justice Bose, there will be three more retirements in the Supreme Court this year – Justice Ajay Katira Soumya Bopanna on May 19, Justice Hema Kohli on September 1 and CJI Chandrachud on November 10. Justice Sanjeev Khanna will become the 51st Chief Justice on November 11.
