Bangladesh crush UAE to win U-19 Asia Cup | Cricket News - Times of India

New Delhi: Wicketkeeper Batsman Ashiqur Rahman Shibli Bangladesh continued their impressive run of form with a second century in five matches to claim the U-19 Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday with a stunning 195-run victory over the United Arab Emirates.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Ashiq played a brilliant innings, hitting 12 fours and a six to score 129 off 149 balls. Bangladesh made a huge total of 282/8.
In reply, UAE were bundled out for 87 runs in 24.5 overs, and Bangladesh cruised to victory with their best record of five wins from five matches in the eight-nation tournament.
A seam trio of left-arm pacers The famous Meridha (7-0-29-3), Iqbal Hussain Ayman (6-0-15-2), and Rohant Dullah Burson (6-2-26-3) stirred, reducing UAE to 61/7 in the first 15 overs.
Off-spinner Sheikh Payoz Jabon (4.5-1-7-2) then wrapped up the affair with his clean spell. For UAE, Dhruv Parashar fought a solo battle at No. 4 for 25 not out.
Opener Akshit Roy (11) was the next best scorer, while others failed to reach double figures.
For Bangladesh, Ashkur scored 378 runs in five innings at 126.00 and was named Man of the Match and Man of the Series.
Chaudhry Mohammad Rizwan (60; 71b), Ariful Islam (50; 40b) and skipper Mahfouzur Rehman Rabi’s quickfire 21 (11b) also contributed to Bangladesh’s innings.
