Airtel to seek reversal of Rs 24.9 lakh penalty order received under CGST Act - Times of India

Bharti Airtel has said that it disagrees with the order imposing a penalty of Rs 24.94 lakh under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act. The telecom major said it would take appropriate action for correction or replacement. The violation relates to alleged input tax credit claims from 2017-18 to 2021-22 and other related matters. The company notified similar markets in a BSE Filing
Giving details of orders received by the company under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, Airtel said the order was received on December 24.
The order imposed a penalty of Rs 24,94,316, it said, adding, “The company does not agree with the order and will take appropriate action for its rectification/reversal.”
“The maximum financial impact is the extent of the fine imposed,” he said.
